Soooooooo... I was sitting in the Doctors waiting room getting ready to be signed in for an appointment and registered... you know, where they ask you a whole bunch of random questions either about things that make you think "Wait, should I really be telling this to a complete stranger? Even if she IS a nurse?" or seem irrelevant: "What's your name/ phone number/address/Social security number/billing account/what is your problem/why are you here/what was your passing grade in school when you were 9 years of age/who invented the atomic bomb/what year was Shakespeare born in/what is the point of life/where do you see yourself in 10 years/what way do you think would be best to die so that we might be able to arrange it for you, for your best convenience"............. so I exaggerate just a small bit. Whatever. ANYWAY, I was sitting in the waiting room and I happened to glance up at the wall and I saw an "article" posted there, obviously to make others smile and feel better. Mind you, that is why you are going to see the Doctor in the first place, to feel better, but perhaps the reason that they post things on the wall is to make you feel a bit better about paying money to see someone whose office plants have died and calls their job "the practice". I don't know. Moving on.... the article was about Murphy's Law and things related to it. I thought that it was hysterical and wanted to share it on my blog... and I would have done so last week, but I couldn't find it. You want to know why? Because I, Annagram, near-genius, forgot the title of the article and had to spend literally hours searching for it. Thanks though to my super-duper best friend teaching me how to search Google like a Pro (HA!!), I finally found it! So, in case you haven't already guessed, I am going to post the bit of the article that I liked, "Murphy's Law Relatives":
Murphy's Law Relatives:
Law of Mechanical Repair - As soon as your hands are coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee.
Law of Gravity - Any tool, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.
Law of the Result - When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will.
Law of Probability - The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your error.
Law of Bio-Mechanics - The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the ability to reach it.
Law of Random Numbers - If you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy signal and someone always answers.
Law of the Alibi - If you tell the boss that you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the very next morning you will have a flat tire.
Variation Law - If you change traffic lanes, the one you were in will always move faster than the one you are in now (works every time).
Law of the Bath - When the body is fully immersed in water, the telephone rings.
Law of Close Encounters - The probability of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.
Law of the Theater - At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle will arrive last.
The Starbucks Law - As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.
Law of Lockers - If there are only two people in a locker room, they will have adjacent lockers.
Law of Physical Surfaces - The chances of an open-faced jam sandwich landing face down on a floor covering are directly correlated to the newness and cost of the carpet/rug.
Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.
Law of Physical Appearance - If the shoe fits, it's ugly.
Law of Public Speaking - A closed mouth gathers no feet.
Law of Commercial Marketing Strategy - As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it.
Doctor's Law - If you don't feel well, make an appointment to go to the doctor, by the time you get there you'll feel better. Don't make an appointment and you'll stay sick.
Good Food Law - The better something tastes, the greater the probability that it's bad for you.
I would like to let you all know that next Tuesday I will most likely not be blogging, I will be away for the week, so unless I am miraculously able to find both a computer as well as well enough time, I will not be blogging!
Catch yah later!
